Air Guitar Karaoke AKA "Aireoke"
"Aireoke - Where karaoke get's it's furry little butt kicked" - Zac 'The Magnet' Monro
Aireoke is free-form air guitar, pick your track and jump on stage, simple as that! Solo or with friends, we've got catalogues packed full of tunes and we're ready to host a night of furious flailing. We've taken the air guitar karaoke format to amazing club nights like Rumpus Party (see the galleries here and here) and festivals like Bloodstock Open Air (see video here), High Voltage (see video here) and never failed to get the crowds going crazy.
We've also worked with internationally recognised, experimental dance organisation Dance4 on a Nottdance Festival event part of their international 'Struts and Frets' project bringing together dancers and air guitarists from Finland and England, where we invited the crowd of Nottingham's Rock City to compete to become the Nottdance Air Guitar Champion.
Air band performances
We've taken the AGUK air band up and down the country, complete with air guitar, bass, drums, and yes, even flute. As well as straight performances at places like nightclubs and comedy clubs, we've also produced specially commissioned pieces to particular themes, such as for Bearded Kitten's 'Versus' stage at Lovebox, where put on a 'Metal Versus Bluegrass' show (see gallery here).
We've also supported the Childline Rocks charity fundraiser with a special performance alongside a live band, and we supported The Eels latest UK tour by supplying air guitarists to open several shows.
Air Guitar Music Videos
AGUK worked with Atmos Studio to turn their magical Floating Forest installation in to the set for a surreal air guitar music video, shredding air to Grandaddy's Crystal Lake as we drifted along London's Regent's Canal (see the video here).
Air Guitar Guinness World Records
AGUK are recognised by Guinness World Records as the official expert witnesses for all air guitar related World Record attempts in the UK, and we've advised and witnessed several "Largest Air Guitar Ensemble" attempts. For the latest attempt we worked with Action on Hearing Loss when they smashed the record at the Main Stage of WOMAD festival, getting 2227 revellers air guitaring at once (see the BBC report here).
Air Guitar Trophy Design Workshop
"How do you design a trophy for a competition centring on something that doesn't exist?" That's the question AGUK posed to the Design Museum, and they said "Let's ask people". So we held an open Trophy Design Workshop at the Design Museum where we invited the public to design our trophy and try a bit of air guitar themselves (see the gallery here).
